Make a leather harness and matching leash for your dog, adapted to their shape and measurements and built to last. We’ll start with a simple harness design and then adjust it to fit your dog properly. You’ll learn how to take the right measurements and how to adapt the proportions and placement of the different parts to suit your dog’s body. The harness can be customised with different strap widths, lengths and hardware depending on what works best for your dog. I’ll guide you through the whole making process, from cutting and preparing the leather to punching, setting the hardware, assembling the pieces and finishing the edges by hand. You’ll also make a simple matching leash and can personalise the harness with your dog’s name or initials. You can bring your dog along to model for you during the workshop, or bring their current harness and all the necessary measurements. Having your dog there is especially helpful when checking the fit as you work.
